Merry Christmas 2014

The lead up to Christmas this year has been quite relaxing and fun. We haven't had family visiting from overseas, but our friends made up for it.

I feel truly blessed and grateful for all the gifts of love, friendship and travel we received this year and for the simple, everyday things we most often take for granted, like spending time with our family and friends, preparing and cooking food together or being able to run without any injuries.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas filled with joy, peace and love!

Merry Christmas

I have been out of blogging action for a while now for many reasons, some good and some sad, however Christmas is all about the joy and the children (OK and little bit for us adults too), so don't want to spoil it for myself.

Is it just me or is Christmas frenzy getting worse every year???

Really missing my family back home this Christmas season, but luckily my in laws are here to celebrate Christmas with us.

As with every year, I've taken on a Danish tradition of celebrating Christmas on the 24th, it's kind of great to have two Christmas days as I still celebrate it on the 25th...

Santa always comes to visit us (read our cool and very helpful friend) and even our oldest still believes in Santa which is adorable. Then after dinner, we sing and dance around the Christmas tree, immediately followed by the kids demolishing all the wrapping...love it all

Pamela Makin's interiors

There is something about Pamela Makin's interior styling that I adore, if only my house resembled anything like her timeless spaces.

I love how chic and simple her look is, her use of black and white with neutral palette is superb, feeling very inspired....

Morrocan rugs

I've had my eye on several of these beauties for a while now, and the only reason why I didn't buy one as yet is because I love so many of them and I can be very indecisive at times.

One day I'm all out for colourful and jostling for attention Boucherouite rugs, another I'm interested in the rugs from the Azilal province, but then I go back to the abstract simplicity of Beni Ouarain wool rugs.

Which one would you go for?

Easter breakfast

When I was growing up in Croatia, we had (and still do) a tradition where we would wake up early on Easter morning, go to the church and have all the Easter food blessed by the priest before taking it back home to share it with the family.

I am trying to pass this tradition on to my children, so I try to wake up extra early (who am I kidding, with a 2 year old, I do it anyway) to set the table for our Easter breakfast. Since living in Australia, I do not have the opportunity to take the food to be blessed so early, so I try to go to the church afterwards and take with me what I can to have it blessed.

Hope you all have a happy and blessed Easter!!

Easter in our home

Sharing some of our Easter decorations, really enjoying the

beginning of my very modest collection of blue and white porcelain items.

My sister has an enviable collection of urns, vases and bowls in

this colour scheme, and I have to say I fell in love it...

7 vignettes

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Jen Bishop (check her amazing blog Interiors Addict) put up a challenge on Instagram about displaying vignettes within our homes for seven consecutive day, where each day was related to a specific topic.

I loved this idea so much, I had to join in. I've always loved creating vignettes in my own home, it's a wonderful combination of interesting styling and photography, two of my favourite things.

Whilst I didn't actually manage to do all seven (being back at work and family commitments), I got to photograph a few. This one is my favourite, and in Kara Rosenlund's words, it is 'a unique visual short story". It reminds me of some pretty special people in my life and the places I've visited.

Love it all
