Making the impossible possible

For those of you that don't know me, it has to be said that I was never, ever, interested in running. I was more of a yoga class kind of girl, and while that was all good, I felt that I lacked the discipline and willpower that it takes to lose weight after having a baby. Then one day, purely by accident, one of my friends recommended reading this book written by Dr. John Ratey, called "The Spark".

To be honest, I never really finished reading the book to the very end, but the purpose of it has been achieved, I started running...Initially, this was a 5 minute run around my local car park (and even this was too much for me at the time, or so I thought). Each and every day though, I got that little bit better and I ran that little bit longer...and I started feeling good about myself and my body. To my amazement, I started liking running, noticing that each time I drove past a runner, I felt like jumping out of the car to join them.

And now, 5 months later, I ran my first official 10 km run. This one, Run Melbourne, happened last weekend. These photos, and my medal (which everyone gets) will always be a proof to me, that I can really do anything if I put my mind to it. I made the impossible possible...
